This program is offered to help provide low cost, confidential birth control methods to any resident of Ogle County. Through education and counseling, we strive to promote the overall health of our clients by emphasizing sexual responsibility, preventing sexually transmitted diseases and avoiding unwanted pregnancies.

Program Components

  • Contraception-various methods. Individual education and counseling about birth control is included,
  • Yearly physical exam, including a pap smear, by a licensed practitioner-this is required for those women receiving a birth control method from the Family Planning Program. Clients may choose to use their own physician.
  • Pregnancy testing, options counseling, and referrals to appropriate agencies as needed.
  • Prevention services for sexually transmitted diseases, including treatment, education and condom distribution as requested. We do some limited testing and provide referrals as needed.
  • Public education for groups and organizations as requested.

Services/Products
The following list includes specific services and products. There are fees for each service, except for counseling and education. We strive to keep our fees as reasonable as possible so that any women and her family can seek assistance for Family Planning care. We do accept Public Aid. Payment plans can be easily arranged for clients with limited ability to pay. Fee list available upon request.

Access to Care
All services are by appointment only. The Family Planning Program is offered at both of our health department office sites in Ogle County. Please call for an appointment.
